English Bathroom refurbishment
Bathroom refurbishment on the Costa Blanca, the Murcia coast and the Almería Levante. We do the part that matters and that nobody sees: the water installation behind the tiles.
The part you will never look at again
Any bathroom looks good on the day it is finished. What separates one that is still fine in fifteen years from one that has to be opened up again is entirely behind the wall — and it is the part most quotes go quiet about.
- New pipework, chased in properly. Not patched onto whatever was there.
- A manifold with isolating valves, so a future repair means closing one tap, not the whole house — and opening one point, not a wall.
- Pressure test before anything is closed up. We want it as much as you do: nobody wants to come back and break new tiles.
- Waste falls checked, not assumed. A shower that drains slowly from day one was built that way.
- Ventilation, which on this coast is what decides whether you get mould in the corners.

Bath to walk-in shower
The most requested job, and on the coast usually about staying in the property longer. Done properly it is not just swapping the tray: the waste often has to be re-run to get the fall right, and the floor level has to work without a step. Done badly you get a shower that holds water in one corner forever.

Hard water changes what to fit
This is one of the hardest water areas in Spain, and it is worth knowing before you choose taps and a screen rather than after. Limescale destroys cheap cartridges, eats shower heads and makes glass look permanently dirty.
If you are opening the walls anyway, it is the natural moment to deal with the water itself — see plumbing. A softener fitted during a refurbishment costs a fraction of one fitted afterwards.

What we do and what we do not
- We do: the complete water and waste installation, the water heater, ventilation, fitting sanitaryware, taps, screens and radiators or towel rails.
- We do not do general building work. We do the installation and the opening needed to reach it. For a full strip-out with tiling and plastering we work alongside whoever is running that, coordinating so the trades do not undo each other.
Saying that plainly saves everyone time, and it is why the quote you get is for work we actually control.
If you are not in Spain during the work
Common, and workable. Photographs at each stage — including the pipework before it is covered, which is the one you will want if anything is ever questioned — a written report, and a decision from you before anything changes from the agreed quote. See how we work with owners who are away.
How we quote
- We look at the installation first. In an older property what is behind the wall decides half the price.
- A fixed written price before anything starts, itemised.
- If something appears once we open up that could not be seen, we stop, photograph it and you decide. No invoices that grow as they go.
- Invoice with IVA broken out, and the installer certificate where the installation requires one.
