Home Service areas Swimming pool equipment in Orihuela Costa

Automatic valves, sand filters, pumps and filtration: we fit, replace and repair pool equipment in Orihuela Costa, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Punta Prima.

In Orihuela Costa a pool gets used for most of the year, and the equipment works long hours. When something goes wrong — the water will not clear, the pump is noisy, a valve will not change position or the level keeps dropping — the cause is usually in the plant room, not in the pool itself.

What we do on your pool equipment

  • Automatic valves: supply and fitting of motorised valves.
  • Sand filters: new sand, new laterals (the collector arms), a new multiport valve or a complete replacement.
  • Filtration and pumps: checking the flow rate, replacing the pump and setting the filtration hours.
  • Leak repair on pipework and in the pool shell itself.
  • Servicing of the equipment and the water; more in pool maintenance and repair.

Automatic valves: when they are worth it

An automatic valve is a motorised valve that changes position by itself — on a timer or from a control panel — instead of you turning a handle. Typical uses: switching between the skimmer and the bottom drain, splitting the flow between the pool and a waterfall, or running the filter backwash.

Fitting one properly means respecting the direction of flow, leaving isolation valves for maintenance and making sure the pump can never run against a closed valve. And it is not always worth it: if the handle is turned twice a year, a motor adds nothing. We tell you that before we quote.

Sand filters: when the water will not clear

The sand filter is the most common type in villas and communal pools. If the water stays cloudy after a backwash, the pressure gauge climbs again within days or sand turns up in the pool, the usual suspects are spent or caked sand, or a cracked lateral. The fix is to open the filter and look, not to add more chemicals.

Pumps and filtration

The pump is the biggest electricity user on most pools. An oversized pump filters worse and costs more to run; an undersized one never turns the water over. Cavitation noise, a dripping shaft seal, losing prime or the thermal tripping are warnings not to ignore — many cases of losing prime are simply air getting into the suction line.

We check the real flow rate, the strainer basket and the suction pipework, and replace the pump with one of the right size. A variable-speed pump runs slower for most of the day and, because the electricity it uses falls much faster than its speed, the saving can be significant; we will tell you whether it makes sense in your case. On communal pools we also look at the filtration hours and the size of the filter.

If you would also like a longer swimming season, we heat pool water with solar energy too — see solar pool heating.

Is your pool losing water?

Do the bucket test first: put a bucket of water on the first step, with the water inside level with the pool, and compare how much each has dropped after 24 hours. If the pool has dropped clearly more than the bucket, it is not just evaporation. We locate the leak before opening anything up; the method is explained in non-invasive leak detection.

How we work

  • A fixed quote in writing before we start. The figure we give you is the figure you pay.
  • Photos of the equipment before we touch anything, and of the finished job.
  • If we find something unexpected when we open up, we stop and you decide, with a photo and a price.
  • A written job report and an invoice, always.
  • WhatsApp, and service in English.

To get a price, send us on WhatsApp

  • An overall photo of the plant room.
  • A photo of the pump rating plate (power and model) and another of the filter with its pressure gauge.
  • A short video of the fault if there is noise, dripping or a leak.
  • The urbanisation or the approximate address.

Areas and opening hours

Orihuela Costa: Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Punta Prima, and the surrounding urbanisations. If your home is in Torrevieja, Guardamar or another town in the area, see our Costa Blanca South page or the rest of our service areas.

Monday to Friday 8:00–18:00 and Saturday 9:00–14:00. We attend emergencies. We travel from our base in Totana (Murcia), so please give us notice whenever the fault allows.

Frequently asked questions

Can the valve on my pool be automated?

In many cases, yes, without major work: the manual valve is replaced with a motorised one and connected to a control panel or a timer. It depends on how the plant room is laid out, how much space there is and what you want to automate. Send us a photo of the equipment and we will tell you whether it is feasible and give you a fixed price.

How much does a new pump or new filter sand cost?

It depends on the pump power, the type of filter and access to the plant room. We do not quote figures without seeing the equipment: send a photo of the pump rating plate and the filter and we will give you a fixed written quote before we start.

My pool keeps dropping in level. Is it a leak?

Do the bucket test first: a bucket of water on the first step, with the water inside level with the pool, and compare how much each has dropped after 24 hours. If the pool has dropped clearly more than the bucket, it is not just evaporation and there is a leak. We then locate it before opening anything up.

Do you work on communal pools?

Yes. Communal pools get heavy use and the filtration plant is often undersized. We inspect it and quote for the community or its administrator, with a written report of what is there and what we recommend.

Can I deal with you entirely in English?

Yes. The diagnosis, the quote and the explanation of the work done, all in English, and in writing on WhatsApp if you prefer. The whole website is also available in English.
